A little setup.
A lot less to remember.
Connect your AI assistant to ListBot. Then just ask it to make a list, organise your plans or tick something off.
Your lists. Your permission.
You’ll sign in to ListBot and approve the connection. Create an account or sign in if you haven’t already. For Claude and ChatGPT, there’s no coding or API key to worry about.
Choose your assistant
We’ll show you just the steps you need.
Use Claude in your browser for the initial setup. In a work account, an organisation owner may need to add the connector first.
- 1
Open Claude’s connectors
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Select + Add → Add custom connector. Some versions put Connectors under Settings.
Open Claude - 2
Add ListBot
Use ListBot as the name. Copy this address into the Remote MCP server URL field, then continue.
https://listbot.uk/mcpIf asked about authentication, select Sign in now and, for the OAuth client, Register automatically. You don’t need to enter a client ID, secret or request headers.
- 3
Sign in and approve
A ListBot sign-in page opens. Use the same account as your lists, review the access request and approve it. Return to Claude and finish adding the connector.
- 4
Try it in a new chat
Enable ListBot in the chat’s connectors or tools menu, then send the first example below. Claude may ask permission before using a tool.
Custom connections depend on your ChatGPT account and workspace permissions. Menu names may vary between versions.
- 1
Open custom connections
Open ChatGPT’s Plugins page. Select the + button → Add custom MCP server.
Open ChatGPT PluginsIf your version uses Apps instead, look in Settings → Apps for a Create option. You may need Developer mode under Advanced settings. If neither option is available, check your plan or ask your workspace administrator.
- 2
Enter the connection details
Name it ListBot. If a description is required, use “Create and organise my ListBot lists.” Choose a public URL connection and paste this address into the MCP server URL field.
https://listbot.uk/mcpSelect OAuth authentication, review the warning and create the connection. Don’t select “No authentication” or paste your ListBot password into the setup fields.
- 3
Connect your ListBot account
When prompted, sign in to ListBot and approve access. Your assistant can then read, create, edit, archive and delete your lists as you.
- 4
Start a new conversation
Enable or select ListBot for the conversation. In versions with Plugins, type @ and choose ListBot. Then try “Show me my ListBot lists.” Review any confirmation requests before allowing changes.
Cursor is a code editor. Its custom connections use a small settings file; Claude is a simpler choice if you don’t use an editor.
- 1
Open Cursor’s MCP settings
Open Cursor’s Customize page and find MCP servers. Open the custom-server configuration (mcp.json).
- 2
Add the ListBot configuration
For an empty configuration file, paste this and save. If you already have servers, add just the ListBot entry inside your existing mcpServers section instead of replacing them.
{ "mcpServers": { "ListBot": { "url": "https://listbot.uk/mcp" } } } - 3
Sign in, then ask Cursor
Use the sign-in or connect option for ListBot when prompted. Approve access in your browser, then return to Cursor’s Agent chat and ask it to show your ListBot lists.
- 1
Find the assistant’s connection settings
Look for MCP servers, connectors, integrations or tools. Your assistant must support remote MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth. If it supports only local servers, this address won’t connect directly.
- 2
Paste the ListBot server address
Name the connection ListBot, use the address below and select OAuth or browser sign-in if asked.
https://listbot.uk/mcp - 3
Approve and start a chat
Sign in to ListBot, approve access and enable the connection in your assistant. Ask it to show your ListBot lists. No API key is required.
Connected? Say hello to your lists.
Send the first message to your assistant. If it shows your list names, you’re ready. Try the next messages when you want to make a plan.
Show me my ListBot lists.Create a ListBot list called Weekend plans with a Planning header and three tasks: book a restaurant, buy tickets and invite friends. In my Weekend plans list, mark buy tickets as done.Need a hand?
I can’t find the option to add a connector
Try your assistant’s website on a computer. Custom MCP support varies by account, plan and workspace policy. If the option is missing, check the official guide above or ask your workspace administrator.
It asks me to sign in — is that right?
Yes. Your assistant needs your approval to work with your private lists. Sign in with your ListBot account. Only shared list links can be opened without an account; password-protected links also need the list password.
It says unauthorised or won’t connect
Check that the address ends in /mcp, not /docs or a shared-list link. Disconnect the connector, add it again and complete the ListBot sign-in and approval. In Claude, use Register automatically if the OAuth client choice is shown. Never paste an access token or password into a server URL.
My assistant can’t see my lists
Make sure ListBot is enabled in that chat and you connected the same ListBot account that owns the lists. Try a new chat and ask “Show me my ListBot lists.” An all-access password-protected list also needs its list password.
Headers, notes or new tools are missing
Refresh or reconnect ListBot in your assistant to reload its tools, then start a new chat. If it still sees old tools, the updated ListBot version may not have been published yet.
What access am I granting?
The connection acts as your ListBot account. It can read and change your lists, including creating, archiving and deleting them. Review requests before approving changes. To stop using it, disconnect ListBot in your assistant’s connection settings.
